Cosmic Colony is a social city builder game. The player is tasked with colonizing an alien planet. The player can build housing, businesses, factories, and decorative buildings. Houses provide mood points and businesses provide coins. Factories provide crafting items that are required to build businesses. Houses, businesses, and factories produce resources at set time intervals, and have to be collected from to continue accumulating more resources. Decorative buildings provide bonuses to they payouts from houses and businesses. The game uses an energy system - the player can only perform a limited number of actions before they have to wait for their energy to refill. Some items can only be purchased with premium currencies purchased through micro-transactions. Premium currency can also be used to rush buildings so that they finish producing resources faster, purchase items needed to build businesses, and buy land expansions.
