FALLOUT 76 IS FREE TO PLAY!
FALLOUT 76 IS F2P FOR LIMITED TIME!
October 05. 2022.
As part of Fallout's 25th anniversary, Bethesda is opening up the gates of Appalachia to players and giving them a free trial of Fallout 76.

Four years have passed since the disastrous release of Fallout 76 – but through no small degree of effort, the game has shed its reputation and emerged as a fun multiplayer experience that evokes the best parts of the franchise under Bethesda, and now it's free for players to try. The game's first year was rough, and the continued existence of legacy weapons in Fallout 76 still looms over Appalachia. Despite the severe backlash it endured at launch, Bethesda wasn't willing to abandon its Fallout multiplayer spin-off just yet, and the game's first turning point began with the release of Wastelanders. Fallout 76's Wastelanders introduced a proper main story to the Fallout 76 experience, complete with choices, factions, and a plethora of NPCs that populate the irradiated ruins of Appalachia. Since then, the game kept being expanded upon to the point of becoming a more than worthy entry in the iconic Fallout franchise. As part of Bethesda's celebration of Fallout's 25th anniversary, Fallout 76 is free to play from October 4th to October 11th, allowing players who have yet to purchase the title to give it a go. Should they find the game to their liking, they can purchase Fallout 76 (as well as other games from the Fallout franchise) at a staggering 75% discount. There may well be no better time to try Fallout 76 than during this anniversary week, especially for players who have avoided the game at launch due to its controversial reputation.

There can be little doubt that 2022 has been a good year for Fallout 76, as the game continues to clean up its rough edges and expand upon the baseline it introduced at launch and through Wastelanders. A unique, and perhaps the healthiest aspect of Fallout 76 has been the existence of a bustling in-game economy propped up solely by its players. The game allows them to set up interactive shops at their outposts for other players to browse. Released last month, Fallout 76's The Pitt update is the latest content pack added to the game, introducing a new co-op experience for players to enjoy through its Expeditions. Set in post-nuclear Pittsburgh, players can (optionally) group up and brave its dilapidated streets while undertaking side quests to get the most value out of their Expedition. The rewards are substantial, and far more bounteous than those introduced with the daily ops that still, regardless, remain a mainstay in Fallout 76's experience. There's no shortage of ways that players can have fun in Appalachia with Fallout 76 these days. For those in want of its specific slice of nuclear Americana, Fallout 76 provides it in spades – wrapped up in a relaxing multiplayer package that still adheres to the classic Fallout experience that has defined the franchise since Fallout 3. Fallout 76 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
